Why 38-0 Has Never Happened

A league campaign runs 38 matches. Take all 38 and you have a perfect 38-0 — no draws, no defeats. The closest anyone has come is merely unbeaten: Arsenal’s 2003-04 side went the whole season without losing, but a dozen draws left them well short of perfect, and even the century-of-points sides since then carried defeats. Going unbeaten is hard; going perfect is a different planet, and that line is exactly what 38-0 draws.

Eleven Picks, Eleven Risks

A draw hands you a club and a decade, and you take one player per round until a full XI takes shape across keeper, defence, midfield and attack. Eleven rounds means eleven separate chances for the draw to leave you reaching for a player who doesn’t quite fit — and the simulation notices.
